Abstract

In October 2022, a combined six cities in Central Java experienced deflation of 0.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.64. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, three cities experienced deflation and three cities experienced inflation.

The main causes of deflation in October 2022 were the decline in the price of red chili, purebred chicken eggs, purebred chicken meat, cayenne pepper, and air transportation. The main drivers of deflation are the increase in the price of rice, recreation, gasoline, online 2-wheeler fares, and household fuel

The inflation rate for the calendar year of October 2022 was 4.98 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 to October 2021) was 6.00 percent.
