Abstract

In October 2023, the combined inflation of six cities in Central Java was 0.18 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.8. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of inflation in October 2023 is the increase in the price of gasoline, red chili, rice, cayenne pepper, and sugar. The main driver of inflation is the decline in the price of purebred chicken eggs, purebred chicken meat, shallots, watermelon, and cooking oil.

The inflation rate for the calendar year of October 2023 was 2.17 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2023 to October 2022) was 2.81 percent.
