The Central Java Human Development Index (HDI) in 2024 increased compared to the previous year, reaching 73.87 or growing 0.65 percent or an increase of 0.48 points compared to the 2023 achievement of 73.39.
In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in Central Java in 2024 have the hope of being able to live to reach the age of 74.91 years, with an increase of 0.22 years compared to those born in the previous year.
In terms of education, children in Central Java, who are 7 years old and older in 2024, have the hope of enjoying education for 12.86 years or almost equivalent to the length of time it takes to complete education up to the high school or Diploma I level. In addition, the average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and older also increased by 0.01 years, from 8.01 years in 2023 to 8.02 years in 2024. 
The dimension of living standards measured based on the average real expenditure per capita (adjusted) increased by 441 thousand rupiah (3.73 percent) compared to the previous year.
