Abstract

In September 2023, the combined inflation of six cities in Central Java was 0.41 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.59. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.

The main cause of inflation in September 2023 is the increase in the price of rice, gasoline, air transportation, mobile phone credit costs, and sugar. The main driver of inflation is the decline in the price of purebred chicken eggs, red chilies, shallots, purebred chicken meat, and cayenne pepper.

The inflation rate for the calendar year September 2023 was 1.99 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2023 to September 2022) was 2.49 percent.
