Abstract
In October 2021, Central Java experienced inflation of 0.25
percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.26. Of the six CPI cities in Central
Java, all cities experienced inflation.
The main cause of inflation in Central Java in October 2021
was the increase in the price of red chili, cooking oil, air transportation,
cayenne pepper, and filtered clove cigarettes. The main restraint of inflation
in Central Java is the decline in the price of purebred chicken eggs, tomatoes,
cars, gold jewelry, and bricks/stones.
The inflation rate for the calendar year of October 2021 was
0.71 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2021 to October 2020)
was 1.35 percent.
